favorite activities. The beach host each year Daytona 500 NASCAR race , spring break and Bike Week .The beach is popular hang out amongst the youth.
It also provides a 16 km parking place for the vehicles.
The Daytona Beach area is only an hour's drive from greater Orlando and even closer to St. Augustine and the Kennedy Space Center. |

Historically speaking the natives of these place were once Timucuan Indians. The 50-foot high Turtle Mound is an evidence of the centuries old India oyster feasts. Now Smyrna Beach is a real local hangout amongst the tourists
This beach is crowded always. The best thing about the beach is shallow waters and warm water temperature through out.
But visitors be careful- the beach has been minor shark attack by many times. The patrolling is always there and relatively much safer but always a step of prevention helps.
For the surfers this is a ideal place because of the waves which is 2 feet higher bthan others. |

The beach is located between Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. The place was initially opened as a bird sanctuary in 1975 and the town folks have taken a conscious effort to maintain the ecological balance of the place looking at ongoing threatening to the place by the increasing tourists.
The beach is a place for the turtles to lay eggs and if you are lucky you might get a glimpse of the baby loggerhead hatching. |

The largest beachside community in South Brevard and it is a small enclave of beaches.
The beaches arte less crowded than nearby Cocoa beach. No pets are allowed on the beach. The area is patrolled regularly and it is perfectly safe for there young ones. Great place to have a family picnic or play sand volleyball. |
