Ponce Inlet
Ponce Inlet is a lovely small town by the seaside. Its European roots traces back to Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon when he discovered the place in 1513.back in 1880; its famous lighthouse was the landmark for its navigational aid.
Today the lighthouse is open to general view and it is still operational. The breathtaking view encompasses miles of coastline and dunes. Its flash lighting can be seen from as far as 19 miles away.
A guided tour gives the visitors an idea of the local life of deep fishing trips and wildlife where if one is lucky might witness to the birds of prey and armadillos.
Canaveral National Seashore
The place was originally designated as a buffer zone for Kennedy Space Center it got the accreditation of a national beach in 1975. The place is a favorite place for the birdwatchers. As the beach is comparatively less developed it still retains its natural identity for the birds to flock un oblivious to the surroundings.
That is why the park is home to some 310 species of birds. For the best view visit the place at early morning or at late evening and look at the marshes along the border between the water and upland areas.
